#218: Planet Boelex / Suunta
M3U FMP3  Tracks : 7

As promised, Kahvi Collective returns from its summer vacaction with some exclusive material from the one and only Planet Boelex. Previous releases have enjoyed great success; each track having great style, flair and production and most important, each track a mini epic in itself. This time around we have a 'mini-lp' - 44 minutes of blissful works entitled Suunta (Direction) full of beautiful vibes, deep, atmospheric sounds, resounding basses with an analogue twist and those fabulous bleeps that Boelex is reknowned for. Throughout the release the highly polished results of many sleepless nights (right up to the day before release!) are apparent - this is a release to treasure, take a small taster and then dive right in.

Credits for this release: Production, arrangement and concept by Planet Boelex.Cover art by Travis Nobles (widescreen version on download album art link) "Forever and always" featuring Krister Linder on vocals ( http://www.kristerlinder.com ). Watch out for the legendary Mosaik making a surprise appearance in 'Sisumies'

It's been 3 years and I haven't get full of this EP. It's simply stunning. I'm reexploring Suunta. And I'm using "Forever and always" and "Sisumies" as ringtones =)

I'm definitely a fan of PB with 20 tunes on my drive. :)
...Suunta; Forever and Always; Seed of Steel; Shower Curtain; Soft Landing; Joestet... and even something from Tweeter.

I noticed Erin West and Fieldtriqp's both absent from Kahvi.
If you like PB, you might like EW or Fieldtriqp (ie., Old Haunts album).

Quite simply some of the most beautiful music I've heard in a very long time. I have been repeatedly coming back to this album, and expect to for a long time.

A lovely album. It's been on my mp3 player longer than most of the albums I've had, and I often return to it for the soothing sounds and wonderful rhythms. Beautifully done.

The subtle complexity of the rhythmic underpinning on "soft landing" pretty much made my head explode.

A truly amazing release.

This is one outstanding release. Seriously. It's worth burning to CD -- and that's my highest praise for the netaudio I listen to. Means it's worthy of permanent storage so it'll survive anything, because it needs to be listened to over and over again.

Now, in years past, Planet Boelex has pretty much always been decent, full of good tunes that work for any weather, season, mood, and lighting level. In particular, the EPs of "Second Thoughts", "Misplaced", and "Sinking in the Soup" are particularly noteworthy. But I'm pleased to say that this release blows 'em all out of the water.

The whole album is eminently listenable from start to finish. On repeat. Track 3 and 6 in particular got my attention. I actually listened to the whole album laying back, then immediately went for a few miles' walk today listening to it again, just to experience it with hot sunshine and the occasional cool breeze.

Mmmmm, mooooooodfood. Gimme!

I’ve been listening to Ossi’s work since 2005, and I have been privileged with some of his unreleased tracks and sets, which I still keep in a very special place on my drive. Needles to say, I’ve got a soft spot for Planet Boelex.

'Suunta' is one HELL of a pleasant surprise! It's exactly what I wanted to hear from him, exactly when I needed it the most. Meaning - “Misplaced” is a hefty fine album, filled with gorgeous soundscapes and melodies, all in all the perfect album, but it was still just the beginning. Today when I listen to it, I can still hear it…there is more in PB, and “Suunta” is that more, with a production that border genius.

‘Suunta’ is no doubt the best PB release to date. The production is perfect, with every sound getting just the right amount of weighting and personality. It contains sounds and emotions I thought were long gone, and touches parts of me that I never thought existed…the depth is simply second to none. It’s one of those albums that just keeps floating and I can’t see myself getting bored of it.

I am so glad the wait is finally over, and that he prevailed in more ways than one. I’m simply staggered by this…impressive (again)

I gave alot of praise on the netaudio london release and I am still in awe of the quality and the excellence of sounds that it put out. Suunta is no exception. These are the same beautiful sounds that you can expect to be soaking with emotion. A dreamscape of soft innocent melodies that take you through a pleasant journey. The mosaik collaboration is absolutely something to behold and a MUST listen. The vocals were a different touch, but they werent bad, so be opened minded and give it try! (If you like coldplay I think you will enjoy it. :) ) Nevertheless I will be listening to this release for sometime to come, just like I am still listening to netaudio. :)

Cheers and MUCH thanks Mr. PB for all your hard work.

Hehe, great! Seems to be material that Planet B. rendered on Klusa Daba :o) Very "pastellic" sounds. Whole album ingeniously melts together. Sweetest stuff i've heard in a while. Deep! Thank you for that!
